Schallum Pierre holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Laval University. He is associated with Chaire d’enseignement et de recherche La philosophie dans le monde actuel. He wrote his dissertation on the Aesthetic, Ethical, and Critical dimensions of Jacques Stephen Alexis’ Réalisme Merveilleux. Moreover, his academic research includes Neuro-esthetics, the Gesamtkunstwerk, Modern and Contemporary Art, the relationship between Ideology and Literature, 20th century Caribbean Poetics and Thought, Social Networks, Caribbean 2.0, and Digital Humanities. He is a Former student of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Port-au-Prince and holds a Master of Arts in Art Sciences from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
