Schallum Pierre has studied philosophy, Information technology governance and Art. He holds a Ph.D. from Laval University. He wrote his dissertation on the Aesthetic, Ethical, and Critical dimensions of Jacques Stephen Alexis’s Réalisme Merveilleux http://theses.ulaval.ca/archimede/?wicket:interface=:2::::. Moreover, his academic research includes Modern and Contemporary Art, Caribbean Literature, The philosophy of free software, and Digital Humanities. He is a Former student of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Port-au-Prince and holds a Master of Arts in Art sciences from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne http://crav.univ-paris1.fr/theses/fiches/spierre.htm.
