I'm the author of Walking to Guantánamo, a travelogue about traveling the length of Cuba on foot, by bicycle and by thumb. The idea of walking relates to an effort to experience cultures and people in a more profound way than other kinds of travel allow for.
I've spent far more time in Haiti than I have in Cuba, however, and I'm currently interested in how the arts community can best respond to Haiti's catastrophic earthquakes. I've taught film sound recording at the Sine Lékol in Jacmel and worked on many documentary shoots all across the country.
