Artformz / Office for Curatorial Projects
Founded in 2004 and today still located in the Wynwood Arts District, the new Artformz Office, develops nomadic projects, yet continues to be a creative gathering spot that encourages intellectual dialogue and collaboration among artists. In 2008 Artformz was awarded several grants from the Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs as well as a prestigious Knight Arts Challenge Grant for the presentation and development of the premier exhibit of "Giants In The City" at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami. In 2009 Artformz partnered with Red Nomade in Valencia, Spain to co-curate the Artist Invites Artist project. Artists from Miami traveled to Spain in 2010 and exhibited their work with the support of the Cultural Affairs Ministry in Valencia. The Valencian artists reciprocated a visit to exhibit in Miami in 2012 with the help of the Dacra Office in the Miami Design District, The Miami-Dade OEDIT Unit and the City of Miami Mayor's Office. Artformz most popular project is "Small Wonderz" a highly successful salon style exhibition series of small format artwork by exceptional local artists. It was presented for the first time in May of 2010. With subsequent showings at Verge Fair, the Wynwood Art Fair, and Pulse Fair it continues to be a stand out local cultural event.
As in the past the Artformz office continues to support the exploration of unusual strategies to bring artwork of exceptional quality closer to the public and to create a larger dialogue by connecting art and community in new ways.
