Founded in 1996 Diaspora Vibe (DVG) is a multi - disciplinary art space serving as a laboratory for emerging artists of the Caribbean Diaspora, Latin America and other artists of color, providing them with a contemporary sensibility to explore and experiment with new forms and cultural themes.
Diaspora Vibe's intention is to move forward from the misconceptions and stereotypical images of Caribbean and Latin American artists, while also engaging dialogue and interaction with their work and the viewer. Diaspora Vibe provides a bi-monthly forum for artists to explore issues that define contemporary art on the local, national and international scenes.
Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator is the not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization, with a board of directors, chaired by Barron Channer, and co-chaired by Dr Marva McClean. Our mission is to promote, nurture and cultivate the vision and diverse talent of emerging artists from the Latin and Caribbean Diaspora through the Artists in Residence program, International Cultural Exchanges, community and youth activities that celebrate Miami's rich cultural and social fabric.
Diaspora Vibe Gallery proposes that you take advantage of this unique and culturally charged atmosphere at:
The gallery is virtual and transformed social media can be viewed at www.diasporavibevirtualgallery.com
We are committed to mounting three Brick and Mortar exhibitions each year , an International Cultural Exchange to the Caribbean and " Off the Wall " experimental series. During "Brick and Mortar" exhibitions Diaspora Vibe will play host, providing music, caribbean cuisine, and beautiful people, against a backdrop of artworks exhibited by the artist of the month.

Hey Rosie,
I hope that you are doing great!
I am now in a PhD Programme at Goldsmiths, University of London and I am hoping to make it down to Miami soon to see you and say hello.
I have continued to write about and work with Hank Willis Thomas. I cannot properly express to you the importance that that moment had on my life, and it was all because of you. So just know that I love love love you.
Let's talk about me possibly being a guest curator again soon.
Big kisses,
Love Melvin Marshall

Re: Rosie Gordon-Wallace
Also Rosie,
I am interested in going to Africa or the Caribbean this summer get some real experience. Do you have any contacts in either places who might be interested in a hardwoking PhD student in contemporary art history? I would be interested in even going to South America.
Let me know, my best, Melvin.
Re: Rosie Gordon-Wallace
If you are going to the Caribbean, Jamaica or Barbados would be places I would recommend for residency opportunities. In South Africa, the Bag Factory, I know the curator there , Kate Cross.
Best wishes , Rosie
