Marcos Barinas

Architect, Landscape Urbanist practicing in Santo Domingo, Trinidad &Tobago y Jamaica

Marcos Barinas-Uribe did graduate studies at Catholic University of America and the Southern California Institute of Architecture under a Fulbright Scholarship. Later on he did postgraduate studies in International Relationships at the National School of Diplomacy in Santo Domingo and a Graduate Diploma on Urban Settlements and Environment from Universidad de Chile.
Marcos Barinas-Uribe is a Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra. He has been a visiting lecturer at architecture schools in Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the United States. His professional work has been internationally awarded with a Merit Award in the international urban design competition ¨Compostela 2000: The European City as a Model” and a Gold Medal at Miami Beach+2003 Biennale of Architecture in the Landscape Architecture Category. More recently he was selected to be featured in the “Young Iberoamerican Architects” at the Iberoamerican Biennale of Architecture in Montevideo, Uruguay.
